Level Design Concept

I am currently teaching a class on Level Design.  Parallel to the students' work, I am putting together a basic level as a demonstration.

Level Design Concept:  Martial Arts Training

Title:  Wu Kwan or Dojo something?

Point of View:  First Person

Genre:  Action / Puzzle / Timed.

Theme:  Modern environment with martial art theme.  The mood and design will be non-realistic with an exaggerated squat feel to the artwork.  Textures will be a painter style.

Target Audience:   E10.  Will require some dexterity that some younger audiences may not have.  There will also be enemies that the player will have to combat.  There will be no blood.

Platform/Technology Requirements:   PC, Keyboard, Mouse.
Minimum requirements:  3.6GHz CPU, 16G RAM, 64-bit Operating System.

Synopsis:  The player is inside a martial arts dojo and must complete a training gauntlet.  The player will have to navigate multiple platforms, puzzles, and enemies.  The goal of the level is to complete the level without being hit as fast as possible.

Level Design Choice:  The second level will be designed.  The player will have already learned basic navigation.  The challenges will be simple but more challenging than a tutorial level.
